Where did it all start?

The story is deeply rooted in the legacy of Alan's grandparents, Jim and Doreen, who moved to the charming island of Bute in 1998 because they had fond memories of spending their childhoods here. As Alan spent countless summers visiting his grandparents, he too fell under the enchanting spell of Bute's beauty and tranquilly. When fate presented Alan with the opportunity to acquire an apartment in the very same building as his beloved grandparents, he eagerly seized the chance. He understood that this was more than just an investment; it was an opportunity to share the magic of Bute with others. With his own young children in tow and his primary residence on the mainland, Alan realised that opening his doors to guests would allow them to experience the wonders of the island in moments when he couldn't be there himself.

Where are we going?

Driven by this vision, Alan, along with his young children Ollie and Noah, embarked on the journey of creating ONA Holiday Lets. The name itself, ONA, reflects the family bond and underscores their commitment to providing guests with memorable experiences.  As ONA Holiday Lets flourished, expanding to include a second, then third apartment on the island, Alan's dedication to exceptional hospitality remained unwavering. His properties are not just accommodations but gateways to unforgettable adventures, whether guests seek solace in nature's embrace or yearn to explore Bute's rich historical sites.

Looking ahead, ONA Holiday Lets envisions a future beyond its current offerings. The aspiration to acquire and refurbish rundown properties in Scotland speaks to their commitment to revitalizing historic buildings and providing guests with unique, lovingly restored spaces.
